I wrote the following poem for my wife. I was at a funeral - perhaps not the most appropriate place to write poetry - but emotions flowed to me at the time, so I wrote. I think we often personalize things that happen around us in ways beyond the immediate. In this case, the loss of a friend made me think of the death of my wife and what I would want to express to her. In doing so, I used titles of songs we "shared" throughout the poem (kind of like a secret code within the poem). I know this is an imperfect representation of a whole relationship, but I try to express even that inability to say everything. I hope you enjoy. I love you Angie!
